Winter Retreat 2018 Packing List: When packing, please pay attention to the weather forecast for Sandia, TX. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Sleeping Bag or twin size bedding Pillow Toiletries (tooth brush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, etc.) Towel Shower Shoes Clothes for Rec Change of clothes for 3 days. Include clothes that can get wet for our shaving cream bubble. PJ’s Jacket Closed-toe shoes Extra shoes in case it is wet Shaving Cream (non-gel, NO MENTHOL, i.e. Barbasol) Bible, Journal, and Pen Flashlight (not a cell phone) – bring this so you can use it as soon as you arrive at Camp Zephyr Reusable Water Bottle (Nalgene, CamelBak, etc.) Recommended: A watch to tell time

Please bring something for dinner on Friday evening to eat on the way to Camp Zephyr. Middle School Students: There will be a talent show on Sunday night, please bring any reasonably sized items you may need for that. As is tradition, each day will have a different theme. This makes things fun and provides a common experience for all at camp to participate in. Everyone is encouraged to dress up. This year’s themes are: Friday: Color Day. Each grade will wear a specific color: • • • • • • •

6th Graders: Orange 7th Graders: Green 8th Graders: Purple 9th Graders: Blue 10th Graders: Yellow 11th Graders: Red 12th Graders: Tie Dye

Saturday: Invent-Your-Own-Super-Hero Day Sunday: Past vs. Future Day. Dress up as if you are from the past, from the future, or both at the same time! Monday: Winter Retreat Shirt Day. Wear the shirt you receive at Winter Retreat. Saturday Night: Holiday Hooplah Dance. Dress up like any holiday from throughout the year: Valentine’s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Christmas, etc. Note: This dance is a high energy, crazy-fun dance party, not one in which students are expected to have a dance partner. There won’t be any “slow-dance” songs. PLEASE DO NOT BRING: • Cell phones or other electronics (iPads, iPods, laptops, etc.). These will be taken up if found. • Over the counter medications (we will have these) • Broom handles that have been used on mops instead of brooms.
