Meet our New Lead Pastor

Matthew McMillan Pastor Matt, his wife Rachel and their daughter Everleigh came to us from Dallas Texas. Pastor Matt was a Teaching/Student Pastor there. He graduated from

Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in Christian Studies with a dual emphasis in Theology and Ministry. He graduated with an Advanced Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and will finish his doctorate in Christian Leadership from Southeastern in 2019. He originally hails from Georgia, the son of a Southern Baptist Pastor. After meeting with the Search Team Matt & Rachel felt a God given call to Westminster Baptist Church. They are passionate about equipping the church to change the world, and they are ready to do that here.

If you haven’t already, bid them a real big WELCOME!!

WBC Faith family, Glory to God for the past month of serving with you. We have been given the greatest task by our King Jesus: to make disciples of Christ who enjoy God’s goodness while bringing God glory. The calling of God is clear in this Church and it is being lived out through many great missions projects throughout the city. I hope that our Church will continue to be a beacon of hope for our county, state, nation, and world. As I consider the past month, I am overwhelmed with gratitude towards God for how He has provided encouragement and resources through you. My family is grateful beyond words for the kindness that you have shown us. We have received calls, letters, email cards, gifts, social media posts, and many other kinds expressions of your welcoming spirit at Westminster Baptist Church. I hope that I have been able to share with you how much your gift has meant to us, but if not, I want you all to know that God has used you to make this transition very smooth for our family. The last letter I wrote to the whole Church asked for that very thing, a smooth transition time for my family. Not only did you pray, but you participated in making this possible. Thank you, this is home. My mind is full of vision for this local Church. I see children covering our playground while learning about the gospel and it’s impact on their lives; I see Sunday School rooms full of men and women devoted to learning and living God’s Word; I see worship services covered in praise and petitions with the Bible being proclaimed with boldness, grace, and unashamed truth; I see a baptismal full of new believers who find love, encouragement, and discipleship in their walk with Jesus; and most importantly, I see God being glorified in the lives of many Carroll County residents. If you were to ask me what I see today, it might be children coming out of Sunday School excited to tell their parents about what they learned, or it might be a teenager finding hope that encourages them not to end their life, regardless, I am seeing God’s Spirit covering this Church with healthy, fruitful ministry in so many beautiful ways. Take a trip through the Church building and picture what is to come for yourself. Dream about people finding Christ, telling others about Christ, and a Church SIMPLY focused on making Jesus known to all people. Will you paint a new picture of hope for the next generation of believers? If so, I encourage you to invest in WBC because the future is hopeful.

“Teach me your way, LORD, and I will live by your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear your name. I will praise you with all my heart, Lord my God, and will honor your name forever.” (Psalm 86:11–12, CSB)

Grace and peace, Matt McMillan

Creator God

bless our music that it might glorify your name. May the talent you have bestowed on us be used to serve You. Let our music be a witness to your majesty and love. And remind us that you are always watching and listening. May your presence and beauty be found in every note And may the words that are sung reach the hearts of Your people so they will draw closer to you. May your Spirit guide us through every measure So that we may be the instruments of peace And proclaim your glory with instruments and glad voices Lynn Johnson, Choir Director

WBC is having a blood drive June 25th from 1pm-5:30pm in the Multipurpose Room Contact Nancy Bickel to sign up or for more information 410-871-2073 To our Westminster Baptist Church Family, We wish to express our deepest appreciation for the prayers, cards and beautiful flower arrangement during the passing of my mother, M. Carol Wilson. The many phone calls, messages and concern shown to our family was truly a blessing to all of us during this difficult time. We are so very blessed to be a part of a loving, caring church family. Love, Herb & Carol Wilson III

We have been praying for a lady named Melissa for a while. She is the granddaughter of Marge & Lloyd Dyer, former members of WBC. She was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and underwent a bone marrow transplant on September 12, 2017. The family was recently informed by Johns Hopkins Oncologists that her cancer is now considered in FULL REMISSION!!! We lift our hands and hearts to the great physician God Almighty in thanks for this gift of life. While the road ahead will still be long and difficult, we find our strength renewed by His Grace. We want to again thank the hundreds of friends and family members who have stood by our side in so many ways during this most difficult trial. Words can’t adequately express what your outpouring of love and kindness have meant to us. May each of you find peace in knowing your efforts made a difference in someone’s life and will not be forgotten.

What we do for Missions, goes on all year. Stores have sales for different items all year. We are going to accept items all year long. That way, it will be easier for families to participate when it is more convenient for them. We will refill our pantry as you bring in canned goods (vegetables, fruit and meat) that is dated 2019 or later. We also have a need for large white towels, men’s white socks, women’s socks, toothpaste, white wash cloths, men and women’s deodorant, dish and laundry detergent, diapers, shampoo and toilet paper. As we get close to the time for special ministries, I will let you know of special items that are still needed. We hope this list helps. There are a lot of hurting people in our community and in churches that can use our help. Please give as you can. Some of the ministries that could use your help are: The Westminster Rescue Mission, Shepherd’s Table (our soup kitchen,) and New Life for Girls. We also fill bookbags with school supplies to be distributed in the Fall. Please see me or give me a call if you are lead or able to help (410) 848-5652.
