Intercultural Relevancy and Responsiveness

21st CCLC Program Directors

bob McNeil, Coaching Leaders/ Shifting Norms

Session Description Open, honest, and authentic communication is the foundation of effective coaching. How can we strengthen our coaching skills and build upon the strengths of our program teams? And how do we move through challenges and barriers and rise to meet the needs of our youth and families? Programs can choose when and how they wish to use their Program Team Time: year 5 sustainability planning, conference session debriefing, or whatever will best meet your continuous program improvement needs, including collaboration with other programs. Project Directors are responsible for communicating to their staff which “A” session to attend (1, 2, 3, or 4).

What is “intercultural relevancy”, and how can we be responsive to the diverse needs of our youth and families? This session includes conversations about cultural commonalities and differences and the opportunity to understand and practice new skills to address bias and meet the needs of your diverse communities.
