Trip Participant’s Financial Responsibility 2019 “And He said to them, ‘Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.’ And He went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.” (Mark 1:38-39) Traveling to serve others with building projects, VBS programs, and showing the love of Christ through sharing His word, costs a considerable amount of money. Some of these costs are covered by the congregation through the Impact offerings. The balance of these costs are covered by the mission trip participants. As a mission trip participant, you are responsible to cover the cost for your mission trip. The participant cost for each trip is stated in the Missions brochure and online at stjstl.net. This is the total that you must either pay in advance yourself, or have paid in advance for you by designated contributions from friends or family. Your contributions and those of your family and friends are tax deductible. All contributions must be payable to St. John Church. The total cost may be paid out in a lump sum or may be paid in installments prior to the departure of the trip. The initial payment of $150 is due with the application and is non-refundable. The remaining balance may be paid out in any way you desire as long as the final payment is received two weeks prior to the departure of the trip. Any contributions exceeding trip costs will be applied to project expenses for that trip. Participants may not apply excess contributions to previous or future mission trips. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. ’Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’ ” (Malachi 3:10) Please read the following, sign the acknowledgment below, and return to your trip leader. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

I understand that I am responsible for paying the cost of this trip, as reflected in the Missions brochure. I understand that the $150 fee paid with the application is non-refundable. I understand that the total cost is due two weeks before the trip departs. I understand that I may invite friends and family members to help defray my costs on this trip, but the ultimate responsibility for this amount is mine. I understand that I may not apply excess contributions to previous or future mission trips or to other participants’ trips. I understand that if I am unable to attend the trip for any reason, I am still responsible for paying the full cost of the trip.

It is not our intent to allow finances to prevent anyone from going on a St. John Mission Trip.
