Take 60 seconds and write down your plans for the day. Then go back and circle the things that you might be nervous about or know you need God’s help to accomplish. Place the list somewhere you’ll see throughout the day. As you check off each thing on your plan, thank God for the plan that HE has for you and your life!

As you drive to and from VBS this week, listen to the Amped CD. Share with everyone in the car at least one way that you can live and love like Jesus did. Then take some time to look out the window and point out to each other all the things that are alive. As you sing at the top of your lungs, think about how amazing it is that Jesus is alive! How does knowing that change how you live YOUR life?

Ask a kid: Share at least one UP and one DOWN thing that happened to you today. Then talk with your parent about how God was with you in the ups and the downs. (P.S. God being with you no matter what is a pretty awesome UP, right?!) Ask a parent: When have you felt God was with you the most in your life? Was it during an UP time or a DOWN time? How did knowing God was with you change how you responded to that situation?

Read John 13:34-35 together as a family. Before Jesus came, people had a LOT of rules to follow. Then when Jesus came, He summed up all of the rules quite simply into…LOVE. Talk together about what it would look like to really love like Jesus loved—to live like people matter. Share with each other why sometimes it’s is hard for you to do that. Take some time to pray together to ask God to help you love others like Jesus loves you.
