VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2018 POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Adult Leaders: Age 16 and up Student Assistants: Students in grades 6-12 Volunteer Expectations:  Serve all five days of the camp: June 18-22, 12:30-4:30 each day.  Complete all required safety training prior to volunteering.  Attend one camp training session prior to the start of VBS. Volunteers are provided with activity schedules, supplies and all materials needed. Volunteers will receive a VBS t-shirt, snacks each day, and child care for children not participating in VBS. Note: The number of volunteer positions in each category are limited based on camp enrollment and needs. Position requests cannot be guaranteed. The Children’s Ministries Director will approve all volunteer assignments.

Preschool Adult Leaders & Student Assistants

Elementary Adult Leaders & Student Assistants

(Each classroom is staffed will two adult leaders and one student assistant)

Welcome and dismiss children to/from camp each day. Guide a group of 12-14 preschool children in a classroom. Guide and participate in planned activities with children each day. Interact with and build relationships with the children. Light decorating of classroom prior to the start of the camp.

Activity Adult Leaders & Student Assistants

Buddies (Adults & Students)

Set up and prepare daily activities for children to visit your rotation area each day (such as crafts, games, science, snack, etc.) Guide groups of children in the activities planned for your rotation area. Interact with and build relationships with the children. Clean up your rotation area each day.

Engage and assist 1-2 assigned children as they participate in the planned activities. Adjust/modify activities as needed according to the assigned child’s abilities. Interact and build relationships with the children.
