Questions from the Weekend: 2. Read Genesis 32:22-32 again. Describe for your group a time when you felt like you were wrestling with God. What did you learn from that experience? 3. Jacob walked with a limp the rest of his life – do you have any “scars” or “wounds” (either physical or emotional or metaphorical) from your experiences, which remind you of your past? 4. Read Genesis 32:32 The Israelites did not eat the tendon attached to the hip of whatever animal they ate out of remembrance of Jacob’s wrestling match. Are their lessons that you have learned from other people’s struggles? 5. Jacob also was a liar, manipulator, and deceiver, but God still choose him and blessed him even though he didn’t deserve it at all – which is evidence of God’s amazing grace. What has God done in your life, even though you didn’t deserve it? 6. You can trace a legacy of favoritism in this family – Abraham favored Isaac, Isaac favored Esau, Jacob Joseph, and so on. What legacies (good or bad) have you have inherited? What are some legacies you are trying to establish? 7. Read 2 Corinthians 12:1-10 together. How is God’s power made more perfect through our weaknesses? Have you ever had the chance to take delight in one of your weaknesses because it put God’s power on display? 8. Related to the same verse above, what does it mean that God’s grace is “sufficient” for us?
