Getting Started If you are considering Linworth Baptist Church as the site of your wedding, contact LBC’s Wedding Coordinator, Libby Montgomery at [email protected]. Libby will be your primary contact for your wedding ceremony at LBC.

All fees must be paid at least TWO WEEKS PRIOR to the wedding date. Checks should be made out to Linworth Baptist Church and include the “Bride/Groom Last Name Wedding” in the memo line. A deposit is required for non-members at the time of booking. The deposit is in addition to all facility fees and will be returned to the party after the wedding once the facility has been inspected for cleanliness, damage and compliance to all church regulations. Members may use the Fellowship Hall for a Rehearsal Dinner or Reception, free of charge. If a member wishes to waive the Custodial Fee for use of the Fellowship Hall for either of these events, the member must clean and return the Fellowship Hall and any associated areas to its original state according to the diagrams posted on the wall of each room. The use of LBC facilities and equipment is reserved for members only.

Scheduling Contact the Wedding Coordinator to confirm availability with the church calendar. Non-members: A wedding date may not be scheduled more than 9 months in advance. Wedding dates are not considered scheduled until the deposit has been made, and the Non-Member Statement has been approved by the LBC Staff. Scheduling includes use of the church for up to 2 hours for decorating/wedding rehearsal and up to 4 hours for the wedding ceremony. Members: A wedding date may not be scheduled more than 1 year in advance. Wedding dates are not considered scheduled until the Rules & Responsibilities form has been completed and returned.

Wedding Requirements Completed Wedding Worksheet At the time of scheduling, the Wedding Coordinator will provide a Wedding Worksheet and Rules & Responsibilties Form, which must be completed and signed by the bride and groom and returned no later than two weeks after scheduling. Approved Non-Member Statement All non-members wishing to hold their wedding at LBC must complete a NonMember Statement Form and submit it for approval by LBC Staff. The statement will include a personal testimony of faith from both the bride and groom as well as a statement as to why they would like to be married at LBC. This form, along with the Wedding Worksheet will be provided by the Wedding Coordinator at the time of scheduling. Approved Pre-Marital Counseling All couples must complete pre-marital counseling. If a couple wishes to schedule pre-marital counseling with an LBC Pastor, they should contact that Pastor directly at the time of scheduling. If the pastor performing pre-marital counseling is not an LBC Pastor, that individual must complete an Officiant Approval Form and receive approval from LBC Staff. Officiant Approval Forms may be obtained from the Wedding Coordinator. Approved Officiant If a couple wishes for the ceremony to be performed by an LBC Pastor, they should contact that Pastor directly at the time of scheduling. If the individual performing the ceremony is not an LBC Pastor, that individual must complete an Officiant Approval Form and receive approval from LBC Staff. Officiant Approval Forms may be obtained from the Wedding Coordinator.

Wedding Personnel Officiant A couple may request a specific LBC Pastor to officiate their wedding or perfom pre-marital counseling. The couple should contact that Pastor specifically to confirm availability. If a couple wishes to have someone other than an LBC Pastor perform the pre-marital counseling or the ceremony, these individuals must receive pre-approval by Linworth Staff via an Officiant Approval Form obtained by the Wedding Coordinator at the time of scheduling. Wedding Coordinator The Wedding Coordinator is the main contact and church liaison for a wedding ceremony at LBC. The Wedding Coordinator will manage all wedding scheduling, forms, staffing, meetings and be the day-of-event coordinator. The main role of the Wedding Coordinator is to answer any pre-wedding questions, lead the wedding Rehearsal and provide support on the wedding day. The Wedding Coordinator may be scheduled for the following. Any additional hours are subject to an additional hourly fee ($25 per hour).    

A/V Personnel All sound and lighting equipment must be operated by LBC Personnel ONLY. The Wedding Coordinator will communicate all A/V needs to the scheduled A/V Personnel in advance of the wedding and rehearsal. The A/V Personnel may be scheduled for the following. Any additional hours are subject to an hourly fee ($25 per hour).  

Up to 1.5 hours for a Wedding Rehearsal Up to 2 hours for a Wedding

Custodial Personnel Custodial Personnel is a requirement for all wedding ceremonies. Custodial Personnel is responsible for setting up the Sanctuary in advance of the wedding rehearsal, and basic cleaning after the wedding. The Wedding Coordinator will communicate all custodial needs to the custodial personnel in advance of the wedding and rehearsal. The wedding party is responsible for collecting all decorations and belongings and of disposing of any trash before leaving the church. For members who choose to use the Fellowship Hall, the Custodial Fees for the Fellowship Hall include tear down and cleaning services, and does not include setup. The Custodial service and fee may be waived in favor of the Wedding Party taking care of all set-up, tear down and cleaning to the specifications provided on the wall of each room. The Custodial Fee will be charged if any additional cleaning/tear down is performed by LBC Personnel. All cleaning performed by members must be complete by no later than 5 pm on Saturday evening.

Decorations LBC can provide a table for a unity candle/communion, and table for a guest book. LBC also has two candelabras available, but if the couple wishes to use them, they are responsible for providing 14 WHITE dripless candles. Candles must be white and mandatory clear plastic sheets will be provided for under the candelabras. Any additional decorations including a Unity Candle or an aisle runner are the responsibility of the couple. If an aisle runner is used, it should be at least 75 feet in length to reach from the front of the Sanctuary through the back doors. Decorations may not be secured by any method which leaves any permanent residue or damage to the church. If flower petals are used, they must be WHITE. Bubbles should be used in lieu of rice or birdseed. Any damage or additional cleaning will be subject to a cleaning/replacement fee and forfeit of the deposit.

Church Policies No Alcohol

LBC has a strict NO ALCOHOL policy. There is to be no alcohol on premise at any time, for any reason. If anyone in the wedding party or affiliates violate this policy, the couple will be required to forfeit their deposit & fees and will be dismissed from the property, resulting in the cancelation of any remaining church use.

Music

Music selection should be respectful and church-appropriate.

Choir Chairs

Choir Chairs will remain at the front of the Sanctuary and may not be moved. The chairs may not be moved by the wedding party or any unauthorized personnel.

Dancing

Linworth has a no dancing policy.

Decorations

Decorations may not be secured by any method which leaves any permanent residue or damage to church. If flower petals are used, they must be WHITE. Bubbles should be used in lieu of rice or birdseed. Candles in the candelabras must be WHITE. Any damage or additional cleaning will be subject to a fee and forfeit of the deposit.

Changing Rooms

A bridal room will be provided which includes full length mirrors. A changing room for the groomsmen will also be provided. LBC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Secure all valuables in a safe and guarded location, not in changing rooms.

Fees

Remit appropriate fees to the Wedding Coordinator or Church Secretary at least two weeks prior to the wedding. Make checks payable to: Linworth Baptist Church and print “Bride Last Name/Groom Last Name Wedding” in the memo line. Fees are subject to change with 30 day notice. 5

Rehearsal The bride and groom will have access to the church for up to 2 hours for the wedding rehearsal. One hour to set up in advance of the rehearsal, and one hour for the rehearsal. The LBC A/V Personnel will be available for up to 1.5 hours, and the Wedding Coordinator will be available for up to 2 hours. Any additional time used is subject to a fee ($25 per hour). The Wedding Coordinator will provide Sound Guides to all participating musicians based on the previously discussed wishes of the bride and groom. The Wedding Coordinator will also provide a rehearsal agenda to the participating Officiant. The Wedding Coordinator will lead the rehearsal, directing the wedding party in all logistical aspects of the ceremony. The Officiant is responsible for leading the run-through of the ceremony itself. Any individual involved in the ceremony should attend the rehearsal, including, but not limited to: the bride & groom, wedding party, participating family members (parents, grandparents), musicians, scripture readers, and ushers.

Wedding Day The church will be unlocked by the Wedding Coordinator up to 2.5 hours prior to the start of the ceremony. The church will be available for a total of up to 4 hours on the wedding day. A ready room will be provided for both the bride (bridal room) and the groom (youth game room). The Wedding Coordinator will assist with any last minute logistical and timing details. The couple and their wedding party are responsible for collecting all decorations and belongings and of disposing of any trash before leaving the church.

Fellowship Hall Available to Members Only

The Fellowship Hall may be reserved by members of the church for a Rehearsal Dinner or Reception, free of charge. The couple may decide if they would like to hire the Custodial personnel to tear down and clean up after the event. Regardless of whether or not the couple wishes to use the Custodial Personnel, they are responsible for any setup, and removing all decoration and belongings with them after the event. If the couple wishes to waive the Custodial fee, they must also take care of tear down and cleaning to the specifications posted on the wall of each room. The Custodial Fee will be charged if any additional cleaning/tear down is performed by LBC Staff.
