with your family. You pack your bags, climb in the car, and fasten your seatbelts. But how do you know which way to go? You would probably check a map. As you follow that map, it guides you all the way to where you are going.

KEY QUESTION KEY IDEA

and His Truth and to find direction for my daily life.

MEMORY VERSE Hebrews 4:12

For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Our road map is the Bible, God’s Word. God guides us and shows us the right way to go in life.

PRESCHOOL Ages 4 - 6

1. When Joshua was leading the Israelites, what did he use for directions? (He listened to God’s words)

EARLY ELEMENTARY Kindergarten - Grade 1

1. Where should we keep our Bible? How often do you take time to read it? 2. Do you prefer to read your Bible by yourself or listen to it?

LATE ELEMENTARY Grade 2 - 5

1. How do you think studying the Bible together could help our family grow closer together and closer to God? 2. What do we need to do to really know God’s Word? (We need to study the Bible and pray to God to help us understand it)

STUDENTS Grade 6 - 12

1. See how many ways you can find to study and love the Bible in Psalm 119: 9-24, 33-40, 97-112. 2. What is the difference between studying God’s Word and hiding it in our hearts? What is the difference between reading God’s word and meditating on it day and night?

3. In Matthew 13:1-23, Jesus refers to four types of soil on which the seed of his word falls. Which type best describes you right now? Was there a time when you would have answered differently? 4. As you read Matthew 13:1-23 and 1 Corinthians 2:6-16, look for ways in which the Holy Spirit helps us understands Scripture. 5. Take a look at Hebrews 4:12. According to the author, the Word of God is like a double-edged sword, it gets under our skins and speaks directly to our hearts. In what ways have you experienced this? .

FAMILY ACTIVITY

Explain to your child that sowing seeds of the gospel — the good news about Jesus— means sharing with others what we have learned when we study the Bible. Encourage your child to tell others this week what he or she has learned from the Word of God. View a video via the QR CODE below to watch and discuss the life of a plant and how it coule be us growing as we learn from God’s Word.
