WeMaple brand launched to engage Canadians in discussions about our future Partnership opportunities available for companies in time for Canada’s 150th Birthday For Immediate Release June 15, 2017, Calgary, Alberta – With 15 days left before Canada’s 150th Birthday, a Calgary entrepreneur launched “WeMaple” - a 12 part Canada 150 Documentary Legacy series, which aims to start a robust conversation with Canadians about our country’s unique history and future potential. “We believe it is important to have a conversation with Canadians about the future of this great country,” says Matt Keay, WeMaple founder and series Executive Producer. “We know that Canada leads the world in many areas and we want Canadians to have a sense of pride about what we have accomplished and instill excitement about the next 150 years.” The documentary series will examine various aspects of Canada’s story and will invite Canadians to engage and be part of the conversation through WeMaple social media, events, and the documentary films. The series will be future focused and will touch on themes like Canadian creativity, learning and technology, innovation, energy and resources, and Canadian icons. “We are excited to tell our story and to have a dialogue with Canadians about the medical marijuana industry” says Amy Lafleche from Natural Health Services. “WeMaple is a catalyst for this important conversation and provides us with an opportunity to talk about the human side of this growing industry.” The series has already started filming with three distinct brand partners: Natural Health Services, a leader in the medical marijuana industry; Calgary Arts Development, which supports and strengthens the arts to the benefit of Calgarians; and Lifehouse, an organization looking to transform Canada’s longterm care system. “WeMaple will help us to talk to Canadians about the issues that our organization believes to be critical for Canada’s future,” explains Twyla Hayes, of Lifehouse. Their documentary will focus on the advancements made, and still needed, in Canada’s Health Care System. The documentary series brings together partners from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta, Shaw Direct and various organizations and companies from across the country though its Brand Partner Program. Opportunities to become a Brand Partner for the WeMaple documentary series are still available. Brand Partners get unique opportunity to tell their story and encourage a national conversation about their issues and innovations leading into Canada’s next 150 years.
