II. We preach Christ crucified because the _________________________________________.

My personal application for today is: 1. 2. 3.

1 SUNDAY, AUGUST 25, 2019 “REJOICE, THE LORD IS KING!” Rejoice, the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore! Rejoice, give thanks, and sing, and triumph evermore. (Chorus) Lift up your heart, lift up your voice! Rejoice, again I say rejoice! The Lord, our Savior, reigns, the God of truth and love; When He had purged our stains, He took His seat above. (Chorus) His kingdom cannot fail, He rules o’er earth and heav’n, The keys of death and hell are to our Jesus giv’n. (Chorus) Rejoice in glorious hope! Our Lord the Judge shall come and take His servants up to their eternal home. (Chorus) “BEHOLD OUR GOD” Who has held the oceans in His hands? Who has numbered every grain of sand? Kings and nations tremble at His voice; all creation rises to rejoice. Who has given counsel to the Lord? Who can question any of His Words? Who can teach the One who knows all things? Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds? (Chorus) Behold our God seated on His throne; come let us adore Him. Behold our King nothing can compare; come let us adore Him! Who has felt the nails upon His hands bearing all the guilt of sinful man? God eternal humbled to the grave, Jesus, Savior risen now to reign! (Chorus) You will reign forever! You will reign forever! You will reign forever! You will reign forever! (Chorus)

2 “O GREAT REDEEMER” Eternal King, enthroned in light, the heavens bow at Your command. You rule the world in pow’r and might, yet grieve the fallen state of man. Immortal hands becoming flesh reach out to pay the sinner’s price; To bear the punishment of death, one pure atoning sacrifice. Oh Great Redeemer, Oh the power of Your name. Oh Mighty Warrior, Strong to Save, worthy the Lamb for sinners slain. Oh Great Redeemer The mystery of grace unfolds. The blood of Christ now covers us; And darkness trembles to behold the Risen King, victorious! Oh Great Redeemer, Oh the power of Your name. Oh Mighty Warrior, Strong to Save, worthy the Lamb for sinners slain. Oh Great Redeemer; Oh Great Redeemer Oh Great Redeemer, Oh the power of Your name. Oh Mighty Warrior, Strong to Save, worthy the Lamb for sinners slain. Worthy the Lamb for sinners slain. Worthy the Lamb for sinners slain. Oh Great Redeemer “CHRIST THE SURE AND STEADY ANCHOR” Christ the sure and steady anchor in the fury of the storm, when the winds of doubt blow through me and my sails have all been torn; In the suff’ring, in the sorrow, when my sinking hopes are few, I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed. Christ the sure and steady anchor while the tempest rages on, when temptation claims the battle and it seems the night has won, deeper still then goes the anchor, though I justly stand accused; I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed. Christ the sure and steady anchor through the floods of unbelief; Hopeless somehow, O my soul, now, lift your eyes to Calvary. This my ballast of assurance, see His love forever proved; I will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed. Christ the sure and steady anchor as we face the wave of death, when these trials give way to glory, as we draw our final breath; We will cross that great horizon, clouds behind and life secure, and the calm will be better, for the storms that we endure. Christ the shore of our salvation, ever faithful, ever true; We will hold fast to the anchor, it shall never be removed.

3 “MAY THE PEOPLES PRAISE YOU” You have called us out of darkest night, into Your glorious light, that we may sing the wonders of the risen Christ. May our every breath retell the grace that broke into our strife with boundless love and deepest joy, with endless life. (Chorus) May the peoples praise You; Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus. All the earth is Yours and all within each harvest is Your own, and from Your hand we give to You, to make Christ known. May the seeds of mercy grow in us for those who have not heard; May songs of praise build lives of grace to spread Your Word. (Chorus) May the peoples praise You; Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus. This our holy privilege to declare Your praises and Your name to every nation, tribe and tongue, Your church proclaims. (Chorus) May the peoples praise You; Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus. Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, worthy, worthy is the Lamb Who was slain. Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; All creation praise Your glorious Name. (Chorus) May the peoples praise You; Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus. (Chorus) May the peoples praise You; Let the nations be glad. All Your blessing comes that we may praise, may praise the Name of Jesus.

4 ANTHEM “I WILL LIFT UP YOUR NAME” While I still have my breath, while I still have my voice, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. While I still have a word, while I still have a song, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your, lift up Your name (Chorus) Your name is wonderful, Your name is powerful. You call into the deep and oceans tremble. Your name is glorious, Your name, victorious. You are the conqueror who's more than able. Lord, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. In the weakest of times, in the still of the dark, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. I will walk through the valley with a song in my heart. I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your, lift up Your name. (Chorus) Your name is wonderful, Your name is powerful. You call into the deep and oceans tremble. Your name is glorious, Your name, victorious. You are the conqueror who's more than able. Lord, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. (Bridge) Messiah, Deliverer, Savior, Redeemer Messiah, Deliverer, Savior, Redeemer Messiah, Deliverer, Savior, Redeemer Messiah, Deliverer, Savior, Redeemer You are the Great I AM, You are the Great I AM! (Chorus) Your name is wonderful, Your name is powerful. You call into the deep and oceans tremble. Your name is glorious, Your name, victorious. You are the conqueror who's more than able. Lord, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. (Chorus) Your name is wonderful, Your name is powerful. You call into the deep and oceans tremble. Your name is glorious, Your name, victorious. You are the conqueror who's more than able. Lord, I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name. I will lift up Your name, Your name; I will lift up Your name, I will lift up Your name, Your name; Your name!

5 “THERE IS A REDEEMER” There is a Redeemer, Jesus, God's own Son; Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One. (Chorus) Thank You, oh, my Father, for giving us Your Son, and leaving Your Spirit ‘til the work on earth is done. Jesus, my Redeemer, Name above all names, Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Hope for sinners slain. (Chorus) Thank You, oh, my Father, for giving us Your Son, and leaving Your Spirit ‘til the work on earth is done. When I stand in Glory, I will see His face. There I’ll serve my King forever in that holy place. (Chorus) Thank You, oh, my Father, for giving us Your Son, and leaving Your Spirit ‘til the work on earth is done. INVITATION “THERE IS A FOUNTAIN” There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel’s veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains, Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day, and there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away, Wash all my sins away, wash all my sins away; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away. Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its pow’r, till all the ransomed Church of God be saved to sin no more, Be saved to sin no more, be saved to sin no more; Till all the ransomed Church of God be saved to sin no more. E’re since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die, And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die; Redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die. When this poor lisping, stamm’ring tongue lies silent in the grave, then in a nobler, sweeter song I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save; Then in a nobler, sweeter song I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save.

6 OFFERTORY “CLING TO CHRIST” Father, I can come to You and boast of deeds I’ve done; In my pride I strive to earn the favor Christ has won, He alone pleads my acceptance, all my works aside, so I come with empty hands and I cling to Christ. Father, I can go astray and battle needless fears. Voices tell me I’m condemned and that I can’t draw near, but Your Spirit calls me homeward with Your words of life. Jesus bore my every sin, so I cling to Christ. Father, all my earthly aims in time will turn to dust. Let me learn that loss is gain for those who know Your love. All the treasures of this world will never satisfy, You alone are endless joy, so I cling to Christ. You alone are endless joy, so I cling to Christ.

BENEDICTION “BEHOLD OUR GOD” Behold our God seated on His throne; come let us adore Him. Behold our King nothing can compare; come let us adore Him!
