We have come a long way over 15 years to bring you a wine list which is unique, beautiful and simply mouth-watering. We are proud to present to you a selection of more than 200 wines to satisfy your taste buds. We feauture wines from all over the world as well as the best selection each wine growing region in South Africa has to offer. We have included a Food & Wine flavours pairing page, as well as ‘spot pairings’ as you read along. Should you need any other food pairing, our wine stewards are more than happy to assist.

PAIRING FLAVOURS
Wine and food pairing is about combining particular dishes with specific wines to enhance all the flavours of your meal. The reason why food and wine pairing should be kept in mind when dining, is that elements in both the food and the wine react with each other in a certain way. By finding a balanced combination of elements, your overall dining experience is enhanced. Here are a few guidelines to which kinds of wines pair well with certain dishes on our menu, however taste is a subjective experience. That’s why a “perfect pairing” for one person could be less enjoyable for someone else. Golden Rule: The weight of the wine should match the weight of the food.
WHITE
Sauvignon Blanc: Feta cheese, chicken, sole, asparagus, light sauces and sorbet. Chenin Blanc: Salads, Kingklip, chicken, creamy sauces and ice cream. Chardonnay: Feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, pine nuts, chicken, sole, asparagus, dishes with light sauces, saffron, pork and veal. Riesling: Lemon, pork, prosciutto, creamy sauces, mussels, duck and pork. Pinot Grigio: Feta cheese, mussels, sole, oysters, salmon, salami, basil and oregano.
RED
Cabernet Sauvignon: Gorgonzola cheese, bay leaf, rosemary, sage, tomato, beef, leg of lamb, veal, venison and red wine sauces. Merlot: Parmesan cheese, steak, caramelised onions, rosemary and berry fruit. Shiraz/Syrah: Hazelnuts, salmon, tomato, oregano. Pinotage: Lasagna, chili, duck, pork, venison and chorizo sausage. Pinot Noir: Lamb, sausage, mushroom, strawberry, cinnamon, fillet and chicken. Malbec: Beef, lamb, pork and pasta with creamy tomato sauces. Primitivo/Zinfandel: Italian sausage, venison, quail, lasagna and chilli. Sangiovese: Mortadella sausage, spinach pizza, minestrone, chicken, parmesan cheese and veal.

Lightly textured palate, with a hint of sweetness and balancing crunchy acid, results in a brisk finish. Badenhorst Family Vineyards, Secateurs, Swartland 170 The aromas are flinty with honey, orange blossom and white stone fruits. Longridge, Stellenbosch 190 65 Green sweet melon, rich citrus, lime & perfume greets you on the nose while a hint of nuttyness on the palate ends in a crisp fresh finish. Cederberg, Cederberg 200 The Cederberg style Chenin Blanc offers beautiful layers of melon, grapefruit and fleshy white pear. Mullineux, Kloof Street, Swartland 205 Pale straw in colour, this wine has a nose of sun ripened pears and wet granite. The palate has a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft, round texture and some pithy character. The wine has a fresh, mineral finish. The Fledge & Co., Hoeksteen, Stellenbosch 330 Fine, bright and expressive with nicely textured citrus and pear fruit. Subtle apple notes. Opstal, Carl Everson, Slanghoek, Breedekloof 340 The nose is dead sexy with top notes of potpourri and dried herbs before peach and citrus. The palate appears less intensely flavoured compared to previous vintages but still pretty smart with pure fruit, fresh acidity and a nicely dry finish. Mooiplaas, Houmoed, Stellenbosch 350 Wine shows bee’s wax/dried peach on the nose, along with almonds/marzipan from the barrels, good weight on the palate with some minerality and a long finish. Fruit and oak well balanced, a big wine with the typical wonderful mouthfeel of ripe Chenin blanc.

The Chardonnay has a great mouth feel, and long, lingering aftertaste. Ataraxia, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Walker Bay 448 A focussed wine that manages to be both subtle and intense. It has a rich core of grapefruit, white peach, pear and hazel nut aromas.. The palate is graceful with mineral acidity is balanced by a intensity of fruit. Jordan, Nine Yards, Stellenbosch 610 A rich, modern yet classically defined style with full flavours of clove flower, butterscotch and lime oil.

Hartenberg, Occasional, Riesling, Stellenbosch 260 88 The candyfloss, lanolin and perfumed notes on the nose give way to a rich, sweet and sour entry with a floral and honeyed mid-palate that has both balance and complexity. Shannon, Sémillon, Elgin 400 Expresses a musky nose of ginger, quinine, lime zest, cardamom in a minerally and flinty style. Fuller mouth feel on entry, then dense and concentrated in the middle, with a saline element giving the spice and citrus flavors.
