Solomon Ac vity: Wise/Not Wise Materials: Wise/Not Wise cards Say This: Today we heard how God gave Solomon wisdom. We can be wise too! Let’s look at some pictures and decide which Kid‐Os are being wise and which are not. Do This: Show the pictures to the Kid‐Os. Talk about what is happening in each picture and ask if the Kid‐Os are being wise or not. What’s the point? This ac vity will remind Kid‐Os of the Bible story they just heard. It will also help Kid‐Os determine wise behavior from unwise behavior. In this ac vity, they will use their reasoning, language, and visual skills.

Boaz and Ruth Ac vity: Share the Toy Materials: Any toy from the classroom Say This: Today we heard how Boaz shared his grain with Ruth. Sharing is a great way to show others you care about them! Today, let’s prac ce sharing one of the toys here in our classroom. Do This: Give each Kid‐O a chance to hold and look at the toy. Count to five and then ask the Kid‐O to please share the toy with the Kid‐O next to him or her. Use Kid‐Os’ names and encourage them to say, “I want to share this with you, (Kid‐O’s name).” What’s the point? Sharing is a very difficult concept and prac ce for this age group of Kid‐Os. Developmentally, they are in a very “me” stage. This ac vity will help them prac ce sharing and loving others in a very simple, age‐appropriate way. They will grow in their social skills through sharing and learning to use sharing language. In addi on, they have the opportunity to learn and say each other’s names, which will help them start building rela onships with each other.

Daniel Ac vity: Food Guessing Game Materials: Plas c food, bag Say This: Daniel and his friends chose to be wise by not ea ng the king’s food. They knew God didn't want them to eat it! Today, we’re going to guess which foods are in the bag. Do This: Show Kid‐Os the different food items. Allow them to touch the items too! Then, tell them to close their eyes while you place one food item in the bag. Keep the other items hidden as Kid‐Os take turns reaching into the bag to feel and guessing which food item is inside! What’s the point? This ac vity will be a fun way to remember that Daniel and his friends wisely chose not to eat the king’s food. The ac vity will u lize and grow kids’ cogni ve and reasoning skills. They will use touch recogni on as they try to remember and think of which food items they’ve seen.

Joshua Ac vity: March Around the Wall Materials: none Say This: Joshua and the Israelites marched around a big wall for seven days. On the seventh day, they marched around the wall seven mes and then shouted as loud as they could! That made the wall fall down. Today, we’re going to pretend we’re marching around a wall too! Do This: Help Kid‐Os stand in a circle. March around in a circle, loosely singing to the tune of “Ring Around the Rosie.” Then, have Kid‐Os “fall” down, like the wall did! Do this ac vity a few mes, or as long as a en on spans allow. We’re marching around the wall, We’re gonna make it fall, Blow your trumpets and shout out loud, Because now it’s gonna FALL!

What’s the point? This ac vity will be a fun way for Kid‐Os to remember this exci ng part of the Bible story! Pu ng concepts and words to music helps us to make memories, which will help Kid‐Os internalize this story. The song and movement will engage their verbal and large motor skills.

Jehoshaphat Ac vity: Freeze Dance Materials: Freeze Dance CD (on campus) Say This: Jehoshaphat and his army prayed to thank God for his love and greatness. While they sang, God saved them all! Today, we’re going to dance and celebrate how much God loves us all. Do This: Have Kid‐Os stand up. Start the music and dance around. Every now and then, stop the music and tell Kid‐Os to freeze. Dance as long as a en on spans allow. What’s the point? This ac vity will develop kids’ gross motor skills, help kids prac ce following instruc ons, and have fun!

Jesus Ac vity: Simon Says Materials: none Say This: Jesus taught us all so much, and it’s important to do what he says. We should all be kind, honest, thankful, obedient, and we should use self‐control. Today, let’s prac ce following direc ons and play Simon Says! Do This: Give instruc ons, sta ng “Simon says” prior to the instruc on. Some‐ mes, do not say “Simon says.” Do not make Kid‐Os be “out” if they don’t listen. This should be fun and light‐hearted! What’s the point? This ac vity will help kids remember and think about the Bi‐ ble story, strengthen their gross motor skills, and develop their ability to share and work with others as they share crayons.
