multitude of women with a passion and commitment
It is fall and even if you do not have children in school, don’t you still love this change of season to begin something new? The job I had before I had children did not operate on any sort of calendar and I really missed that. I liked the sense of completion and the fresh beginning that a new semester brings. I am praying that the coming months will bring opportunities for each of you to grow closer to the Lord and closer to each other. That is all that matters when we talk about ultimate things, right? May He get All the glory in everything !!

In our culture, we talk much about hope. We hope for good weather. We hope we can get a good job. We hope for good outcomes in all our situations. We often start sentences with the word, “hopefully…” We hope FOR many things. But we also know instinctively that there is no guarantee that we will receive that for which we hope. Biblically, however, hope is different. We don’t hope FOR something, we hope IN something and someone. Our hope is IN Christ.
strength." (Deuteronomy 6:5) We are looking ahead with a sense of expectancy in the way God is leading Baptist Church.

Greetings Ladies!
2015 Fall
At East Cooper Baptist Church, God is building up a
Ps 39:7 “ And now, O LORD, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.”
Romans 5:5”and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
Titus 2:13 “waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
As believers, we already have that for which we hope and we are waiting for the fullness of glory which is yet to come. And we do have a guarantee in Christ. Ephesians 1:13-14 “In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of His glory.” The enemy does a great job of distracting us from these truths. No matter where you are in this season of your life, I am praying Romans 15:13 for you: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” May this new semester bring a newness to your life spiritually, and relationally, that will renew your hope and refresh you in Christ! For His Glory, Rose :)

Breath: The Life of God in Us: Reflecting on the Person, Work and Power of the Holy Spirit Breath examines the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Its title is drawn from the words of John 20:22, which records that “Jesus breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” Do you need a fresh filling? Come and consider this third person of the Trinity. Childcare is available. Sign up online. Books $10. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 15, 9:30am—11:30am OR Wed, Sept. 16, 6:30-8pm
Romans 8—16: In View of God’s Mercy How does faith in the gospel of Christ actually lead to change in real life? How does the Gospel inform our lives? Those are the questions Paul addresses in the second half of the book of Romans. At the heart of chapters 8-16 lies a key verse: “Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God” (12 v 1 ).
Jean Helm will lead us on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 17 at 9:30am—11:30am. Childcare is available. Register online. Books are $9.00.
Scripture Memory This Semester we are going to memorize Romans 8 and 12. The Thursday group will be studying Romans 8-16, so this will be a nice complement. If you want to memorize with us, you can pick up your materials at Women at the Well on August 18, or you can pick them up anytime after that at the church office. You can also email Debbie Rupert at
[email protected] and she can send you the chapters electronically. All you have to do is cut and paste into a small notebook. Choose a partner to memorize with and then recite your verses to each other weekly. Accountability is so important! Hiding Scripture in your heart is a discipline that will reap rich rewards. You will not be disappointed! Page 2
Mom 2 Mom We have some changes coming for Moms! We are going to expand our Mom 2 Mom program to include moms with children of all ages. You will still be able to find fellowship and connection with moms who have children who are the same ages as your own children, through our small groups. We will also offer the Mom2Mom curriculum in the Spring semester that begins in January. In the fall, we are planning to offer play groups for those with younger children. Contact Ashley Wagoner at
[email protected] Audrey Broggi will come to speak to us on Mothering From the Heart October 20, 2015. Audrey is the mother of 5 children, 2 daughters in law, and many grandchildren. Her husband is a senior pastor in Beaufort, SC. She writes a blog titled Mothering From the Heart. Come and be encouraged in this awesome assignment of Motherhood!! I encourage you to take part in the Bible studies that are offered this fall on either Tuesday or Thursday morning, or Wednesday evening. These will allow you to dig deeper in to the Word and also to rub shoulders not only with other moms of younger children, but with women of all ages— some of whom would make great mentors! You can offer to take an older woman out for lunch or coffee and get to know her and her story. Invite her to your house. Ask her questions. Ask to hear her testimony. Ask if she would be willing to pray with you on a regular basis. This is how mentoring takes place! There are some very godly saints among us, Ladies. Avail yourselves to these lovely women!!
