Burial in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mr. McKinney passed away April 10, 2016. He was born in Carthage, TN; son of the late Jim Albert & Mary Elizabeth Whitehead McKinney. He was an engineer and a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ. One of his greatest accomplishments in his career is that he built the prototype for the first hardened space suit. He also loved to talk politics and was very well versed in the subject. He also loved to fish and hunt, play card games and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Probably the greatest passion of all for Mr. McKinney was mentoring his children and grandchildren on life, the pursuit of education and doing things right. He touched all of our lives in so many ways and he had a very big heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lee McKinney Gaines.
